Mausoleums of Sayyida Aisha & Sayyida Ruqqayah in Cairo
Sayyida Aisha
The Mausoleums of Sayyida Aisha and Sayyida Ruqqayah are inside the old part of Cairo. The Mosque of Sayyida Aisha sits near Salah Salem Street in a famous square that carries the name of the mosque. It is a beautifully decorated building, renovated in the 20th century and it still looks amazing. The mosque has two doors: one specialized for men to enable them to reach the cenotaph and also pray in the mosque , and another side door for women.
Hazrat Aisha is daughter of Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.). She died in Egypt in 762 and buried in her tomb that had been renovated and redecorated many times in the past.
Hazrat Ruqayya
The Shrine is located in al-Ashraf Khalil Street, in the south of old city. Hazrat Ruqayya was the daughter of the Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib. Some historians suggest that Ruqayyah bint Ali’s grave is in Lahore, Pakistan, known as Bibi Pak Daman. The location of the grave of the daughter of Imam Ali is open to debate. This is also the burial place of Ali Muhammad bin Imam Jafar Sadiq, Hazrat Atika and Hazrat Ismaa (servant of Hazrat Ruqayya).
