Dahab Sea Front
A sleepy Village
Dahab is a villag, situated on the southeast coast of the Sinai Peninsula, it has a wonderful sea front beach and less crowded than Sharm el-Sheikh. It was a bedouin village but due to its proximity to Sharm el-Sheikh it started to attract tourists until it was hit by the unrest in Egypt. Dahab was occupied by Israel after Six Day war until 1982 when it was taken back by Egypt through a treaty.
A road which through the village and it goes to the Blue Hole which is a popular site for the divers and the tourists alike. This road which leads out of Dahab to the Blue Hole is dotted with the hotels. There were few holiday homes and villas on the Blue Hole Road but I didn’t see much activity in the area. Sun lounges were laid out along the beachfront, most of them cater for the foreign tourists.
The beachfront with a raised platform for the visitors to enjoy the view but it was all deserted. While I walking along the beach, I saw a go which barked at first which made the other dog ran away (which followed me from the hotel). Evening walk beside the Red Sea beach was pleasant but beach was bit neglected. There were plastic bottles and other rubbish washed up on the shores. It showed the negligence on behalf of the locals.
