Sintra Living Statues Festival (Festival de Estátuas Vivas de Sintra) was held on 3rd – 4th October and characters were beside the road between 3pm to 7pm. Located next to the National Palace of Sintra, this statue was dubbed as the Statue of Chocolate. Standing in front of the Moorish Fountain, one artist dressed up as a medieval princess on Volta Duche road. Two statues depict a battle between Muslim and Christian soldiers. It felt like that one guy was almost falling on the ground but he steadied himself and launched and attack on his opponent.
A busy Volta Duche Road
A group of musicians started to move in harmony whenever they received money from the passersby. One guy was playing lute with the middle eastern style of music. Characters were displayed from the different walks of life but some of them were not so common. One guy in particular, whenever he saw a person, he would start flapping his wings. A girl passed beside this statue and guy started to make very suggestive moves.
