Protest at the Temple Mount (Jerusalem) came out of nowhere. I was taking photos beside the al-Aqsa Mosque when I heard shouting from the crowd. Few Palestinians were sitting in an area which was between the al-Aqsa Mosque and the al-Sakhra (Dome of the Rock). I had passed those Palestinian earlier and they were all peaceful but things must had changed. An Israeli security guy was video taping the faces of every one there. A young lady from the Palestinian group came to visitors and started to shout “this is our land, what are they doing here”.
Protesters
Soon she got surrounded by the Israeli security personnel and they didn’t want me to take their photos. There were few men folks sitting there and they started to shout Allah Akbar to support her voice. The things were moving to next level very quickly. The young lady was taken away by the Palestinian men because the Israeli security were almost going to arrest her.
When I reached the Palestinian group, a guy in glasses became very aggressive and started to shout at me. A man in the crowd recognised, I had met him earlier inside the Dome of the Rock and he calmed the other person down. In one corner, some of the officers discussing the plan what to do of the situation. One security took a video footage of my face as well and when I took their photo, one of the officers wasn’t happy. The tension was high at the Temple Mount. Earlier, I was denied entry to the Temple Mount by the security on this gate because I was under 40.
