Tomb of Prophet David - Jerusalem

Tomb of Prophet David (Hazrat Daud) is located near the Hagia Maria Sion Abbey, on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. A statue of King David (Prophet David) playing harp is erected outside the main entrance. The tomb of David was probably destroyed at the time of the Bar Kokhba revolt  (135 AD), afterward the exact location of the site was forgotten. Inside the tomb, there is a small door where men can enter to visit the grave area while women use a separate door next to it.

A mosque used to exist on this site but in 1948 Israeli destroyed that mosque in order to stamp their authority on the site. At that time Old City of Jerusalem was under Jordanian control but Israel had control over this site. People would come here from Israel and pray at the top of the building and see the Old City.
